Peach Zgoda

Zgoda Peach: Ukrainian Breeding Focused on Resilience

The 'Zgoda' peach variety, developed by the M.F. Sydorenko Institute of Pomology (NAAS), is the result of extensive research into adapting stone fruits to the specific climatic conditions of Ukraine. In the nursery market, this variety is recognized as a reliable, high-yielding option suitable for both home gardens and small commercial orchards.

Biological Traits and Productivity

This is a vigorous tree that reaches a height of about 3 meters, requiring proper pruning to manage canopy structure and facilitate easy harvesting. A key advantage of 'Zgoda' is its precocity: the tree begins to bear fruit as early as the 2nd or 3rd year after planting. With proper agricultural practices, yields typically range from 50 to 60 kg per mature tree.

• Fruit Quality: Large fruits, weighing up to 200 grams, are characterized by a pronounced aroma and a sweet, rich flavor. The flesh is notably juicy, making it a favorite for fresh consumption.
• Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits high tolerance to powdery mildew, addressing one of the most common challenges in peach cultivation.
• Hardiness: Withstanding winter temperatures down to -25°C, combined with high drought tolerance, makes this variety highly suitable for regions characterized by significant temperature fluctuations and irregular rainfall.

'Zgoda' has established itself as an undemanding and dependable cultivar that minimizes crop loss risks through its integrated resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. It is an ideal choice for growers seeking the perfect balance between superior fruit quality and long-term tree durability.
