Field pea Modus

Field Performance of Modus Pea Variety

For an agricultural operator, the Modus pea variety (developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute) represents reliable, low-stress production. Its semi-dwarf growth habit is a significant advantage for field operations, preventing lodging and allowing for smooth passage of the harvesting equipment. This structure simplifies the maintenance of the crop throughout the season.

Harvesting Efficiency

The standout feature of Modus is its excellent suitability for direct combining. For the harvester operator, this means less time spent adjusting the header height and fewer concerns about seed losses due to shattering. With a maturity window of 70-80 days, the variety integrates well into tight crop rotations, ensuring the field can be prepared for the next season without delays.

• Weight of 1000 seeds ranges from 260 to 280 grams, ensuring consistent yield quality.
• Protein content of 22-24% makes the grain highly desirable for feed and industrial processing.
• The semi-dwarf architecture minimizes lodging risk, facilitating efficient mechanical harvesting.

Managing the Modus variety requires standard crop protection protocols, making it a low-maintenance, high-efficiency choice for growers. It is a proven, robust selection that performs consistently across typical Ukrainian soil conditions, offering a predictable return on investment for the modern farm.
