Onion TROITSA

Operational Advantages of Chive Variety 'Troitsa'

For agricultural enterprises focusing on the fresh herb market, 'Troitsa' offers a reliable multi-year production cycle. As a perennial chive variety, it is engineered for consistent yields, allowing growers to maximize land efficiency without the need for annual replanting.

Harvesting and Cultivation Strategy

With a maturation period of 120–130 days, 'Troitsa' fits well into a structured crop rotation. The requirement for manual harvesting serves as a qualitative advantage: it prevents the mechanical damage often associated with mechanized harvesting of delicate greens. This makes the variety highly suitable for niche producers aiming for premium market positioning where stem integrity is paramount.

Market and Storage Profile

Designed primarily for fresh consumption, this salad-type chive features a balanced, mild flavor profile. Visually, it stands out with deep red bulb tunics and a stark white, elliptical interior, providing an attractive shelf appearance. Given its 2–3 month storage capability, the recommended business model for this variety is short-rotation supply, focusing on direct deliveries to HoReCa or fresh produce retailers.

• Perennial crop: reduces costs by eliminating yearly seeding requirements.
• Manual harvesting compatibility: ensures higher quality and lower spoilage rates.
• Visual differentiation: deep-red skin provides a unique selling point in the retail sector.
