Triumf is a medium-early hybrid of bulb onion, suitable for cultivation both in greenhouses and in open ground. The vegetative period is approximately 120 days, allowing harvest from planting to collection. The bulbs are oval-shaped, large, weighing up to 175 grams, with a fine root neck and dense yellow-brown skin. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is distinguished by high marketability, good transportability, and long-term storage capacity — up to seven to eight months.
The Triumf variety is resistant to bolting and has high frost tolerance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The leaves are bright green, thin, and number 6-8, allowing the onion to be used for green leaf production. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant onions in neutral, well-fertilized soils with adequate levels of potassium, phosphorus, and nitrogen, avoiding fresh organic matter that may promote fungal diseases. Sandy-loam and clay-loam soils are optimal, along with proper care including timely watering, loosening, and weed and pest control.
The cultivation technology involves planting in shallow trenches up to 5 cm deep with spacing between rows up to 20 cm, as well as using herbicides for weed control. Fertilizers are applied in spring after soil thawing, promoting the development of strong and healthy bulbs. The Triumf variety is widely used in culinary applications due to its flavor and quality, and it is also well-suited for long-term storage and transport, making it profitable for commercial cultivation and home gardening.
