Onion Red Giant

Engineering Profile of the "Krasny Velikan" Onion

Developed by Elizaveta Romanovna Kudryavtseva, the "Krasny Velikan" onion variety is a high-performance genetic selection optimized for intensive agricultural output. With yield potentials exceeding 100 tons per hectare, it serves as a robust solution for large-scale operations requiring consistent productivity within a strict 90-day growth cycle.

Morphological and Technical Specifications

• Bulb Architecture: The flattened-round profile ensures balanced weight distribution, enhancing structural integrity and stacking efficiency.
• External and Internal Integrity: The bright brown protective skin effectively shields the clean white flesh, minimizing waste during processing and market preparation.
• Maturation Dynamics: The rapid 90-day maturation window allows for efficient integration into short-season crop rotations without sacrificing quality.

Operational Utility

The practical application of "Krasny Velikan" focuses on two primary sectors: the fresh salad market and industrial processing. The bulb’s shape facilitates streamlined logistics and reduces damage during post-harvest handling. Given that the variety is intended for manual harvesting, it is particularly well-suited for high-value farming operations where maintaining the physical integrity of the epidermis is crucial for maintaining market value and product shelf-life.
