Candy F1 onion is an early maturing hybrid of bulb onion, developed by the Dutch seed company Seminis. It matures in 80-90 days and is ideally suited for cultivation in the dry southern regions of Ukraine and Moldova. The plant exhibits vigorous and productive growth, resistance to Fusarium and root rot, ensuring stable high yields even under adverse conditions. It forms round, golden-brown bulbs with fine necks and tightly packed, high-quality outer scales. Candy F1 bulbs weigh 130-200 g, but can reach 600-800 g under favorable conditions. Head diameter is 9-12 cm. The flesh is very dense, crisp, juicy, slightly sweet with mild pungency, tasting similar to Yalta onion but more tender. The plant is resistant to bolting and rotting; its short and medium-width neck, combined with low-growing leaves, promotes rapid bulb drying. Onion can be grown from seeds directly in open ground or by seedlings, forming bulbs in the first year of cultivation.
