The 'Icicle' eggplant variety is a mid-season vegetable with snow-white elongated cylindrical fruits reaching up to 25 cm in length and about 3 cm in diameter. The fruit mass ranges from 150 to 200 grams. Their shape resembles icicles, which gave the variety its name. The flesh is white, dense, and tender, completely free of bitterness, making this eggplant particularly attractive for culinary use.
The variety is distinguished by its resistance to low temperatures and is suitable for growing both in open ground and under film coverings. The plant prefers a short daylight period with 10-12 hours of maximum illumination. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to sow seeds for seedlings between March 15 and 25. An important aspect of care is proper fertilizer application: ammonium nitrate before flowering, potassium monophosphate during flowering, and magnesium borate with potassium sulfate after flowering.
Harvest is collected at the stage of technical maturity, when the seeds are still white and undeveloped, which facilitates cutting the fruits into even rings. Due to the absence of bitterness and excellent taste, the Icicle eggplant is ideal for winter preserves and various culinary recipes. Its fruits set even in cool weather, which expands the possibilities for growing under various climatic conditions.
