Onion Golet

Czech Breeding Excellence

The 'Golet' leek variety from the Czech company Moravoseed is the choice of growers focused on consistently high-quality yields and superior marketability. Unlike many hybrids that require overly complex cultivation protocols, this variety exhibits remarkable plasticity, making it an optimal solution for both open-field cultivation and protected cropping environments.

Key Benefits and Specifications

• High Yield Potential: The variety forms a robust leaf rosette and a long, dense white shank, which is the primary marketable product.
• Adaptability: Performs exceptionally well under the temperature fluctuations typical of European temperate climates.
• Culinary Profile: Features a mild, balanced flavor and a tender texture, making it highly sought after by retailers and food processing enterprises alike.
• Resilience: Possesses strong natural immunity to common leek diseases, allowing for reduced reliance on fungicide treatments.

The 'Golet' variety is aimed at professionals who value predictable results. Due to its genetic integrity, the produce maintains excellent shape and structural integrity during transport, which is essential for fresh-market distribution in supermarkets. To maximize yield, it is recommended to transplant seedlings into well-fertilized, structured soil and ensure regular irrigation during the peak vegetative growth phase.

While highly reliable, this variety requires proper hilling (earthing up) techniques to ensure the development of the prized white stalk. This specific horticultural detail is what defines the premium appearance of the final crop—a hallmark of quality that has earned Moravoseed its strong reputation among growers worldwide.
