Onion Albos

Professional leek production with Czech precision

When selecting vegetable varieties for professional farming, consistency is key. Moravoseed’s 'Albos' leek has proven itself to be a reliable performer that simplifies the production cycle. This variety is highly valued for its predictable growth pattern, which is essential for meeting supply contracts on time.

Operational performance in the field

Albos exhibits strong vigor, displaying a robust leaf structure with a characteristic waxy coating that serves as a natural defense. From an operational standpoint, what sets this leek apart is the ease of maintenance. Its growth habit is upright, which makes earthing-up (hilling) and weeding much more efficient.

• Harvest quality: The white shaft is remarkably uniform and dense, minimizing the accumulation of soil within the layers. This significantly reduces labor time during cleaning and processing.
• Durability: The plant structure is sturdy, ensuring low breakage rates during mechanical harvesting and shipping.
• Marketability: The product maintains its turgor for a long time post-harvest, making it an excellent choice for retailers who prioritize shelf-life and crisp texture.

Agrotechnical notes

To get the best out of Albos, consistent nitrogen management during the vegetative stage is recommended. Maintaining correct plant density is critical for optimizing shaft diameter. If you are looking for a variety that combines high-tech European breeding with ease of handling, Albos is a consistent choice that avoids the common pitfalls of erratic growth. It is a workhorse variety designed to deliver clean, marketable yields with minimal waste.
