Description MISTI
MISTI is an early-maturing shelling pea, which matures within 39 to 56 days from full germination to the beginning of technical maturity. The plant is characterized by a short stem and medium green leaves of the common type, as well as white flowers. Pods are weakly curved, short, and narrow, turning dark green at technical maturity. The attachment height of the lower pods ranges from 23 to 32 cm, and the yield of green peas from the pods reaches 42-46%. The seeds are wrinkled and of medium size, which contributes to good and excellent taste qualities of fresh peas. Pea MISTI is a valuable food product, rich in protein — its content reaches 23%, which is comparable to meat, eggs, and dairy products. Moreover, the pea contains amino acids and minerals that contribute to strengthening health and help the body fight various diseases and infections. Thanks to these properties, peas are widely used in cooking and dietary nutrition. The product is presented as split, polished first-grade peas, which contain gluten. The energy value per 100 grams is 1352 kJ (323 kcal), with protein content of 23 g, fat of 1.6 g, and carbohydrates of 57.7 g. To preserve quality, peas should be stored in dry, clean, and cool rooms with good ventilation, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and relative air humidity not more than 75%. The shelf life of the product is 15 months when storage conditions are met.
