Cupido (Cupido) is an early-maturing Dutch variety of bulb onion, characterized by high yield and excellent market appearance. The vegetation period to maturity is approximately 71-81 days, allowing harvest from July to September. The bulbs have an oval shape with a thin central neck and weigh between 100 and 130 grams. Their dry scales are golden-yellow or straw-yellow, and the flesh is white with a mild, semi-sharp flavor without bitterness, making this variety versatile for culinary use. Cupido features high skin density and elasticity, ensuring excellent storage life and transport durability. The variety is suitable for cultivation on all soil types and in all climatic zones, making it universally popular for both home gardening and export. Onion can be planted in spring (February to April) or in autumn, and it does not bolt, which is especially important for obtaining high-quality yields. For planting, the recommended spacing is approximately 10 cm between plants and 20 cm between rows. Spring planting depth is 3-5 cm, and autumn planting depth is 6-10 cm. The yield of this variety reaches up to 5 kg per square meter or about 40.9 tons per hectare, confirming its high productivity. Cupido F1 is one of the most popular hybrids in the Netherlands, widely used for both domestic markets and export due to its quality characteristics and stable yield.
