Onion Biggy

Biggy Snit Onion — a perennial variety of Dutch selection from Enza Zaden, intended for fresh consumption. This variety is characterized by vigorous growth and a well-developed root system, ensuring abundant and rapid formation of lush leaf mass. The leaves of Biggy are straight, slender, and long, with bright green or deep dark green-blue color, giving the plant an aesthetic appeal and making it an excellent decorative element for beds and culinary dishes. The time to readiness for cutting is approximately 54-55 days, after which the plant quickly regrows, allowing for a stable yield of aromatic greens over an extended period. Biggy onion has a pleasant semi-sharp flavor and crisp texture, making it a versatile ingredient in cooking. It is excellent for seasoning fresh salads, soups, omelets, and hot dishes, imparting a distinctive aroma and flavor. Additionally, this variety is a source of vitamin C, carotene, and other beneficial microelements, contributing to health and immune support. After cutting, the onion retains its market appearance and flavor for a long time, making it convenient for use and storage. The Biggy variety is highly resistant to diseases and pests, significantly simplifying plant care. It can be grown both outdoors, in greenhouses, or under plastic coverings, though it requires quality soil for optimal development. During flowering, the onion attracts bees, contributing to pollination and ecological balance. Thanks to its perennial nature, Biggy withstands winter well and quickly resumes growth in spring, allowing gardeners to enjoy fresh greens over many seasons.
