APRIOR is a mid-season variety of perennial rhizome onion, characterized by winter hardiness and high yield. The period from germination to the beginning of green cutting is about 30-37 days. Leaves of this variety are flat, green with a slight waxy coating, 17 to 33 cm long and about 1 cm wide. They have a mild sharp, mild onion flavor and aroma, making them especially attractive for fresh use and in cooking. Flowering plants emit a pleasant aroma reminiscent of hyacinth. The distinguishing feature of the APRIOR variety is the absence of a marketable bulb, which underscores its main purpose — growing greens. Leaves differ in succulence, juiciness, and high ascorbic acid content, as well as low fiber content, which allows them to maintain tenderness and high taste qualities until late autumn. Green cutting begins in the second year of cultivation, carried out 2-3 times per season. Yield with one-time harvesting reaches 1.3-1.5 kg per square meter, and with multi-time cutting — up to 2.4 kg per square meter. APRIOR is universal in application: leaves are used fresh, pickled, salted, dried, and added to cold appetizers and various dishes. In addition, the variety can be used as an ornamental plant due to its attractive appearance and aroma. For successful cultivation, the seedling method is recommended: sowing seeds for seedlings in March with subsequent planting in open ground in early May at a 20x10 cm scheme. Direct sowing in the ground is also possible in late April — early May at a depth of 1-1.5 cm. Timely watering, regular weeding, loosening, and fertilization with mineral fertilizers are necessary for good growth.
