Maize Sangria

French breeding for high-yield grain production

The «Sangria» hybrid from Maisadour Semences is a precise tool for agronomists aiming for maximum grain output. Developed by French breeders, this hybrid is tailored for intensive farming technologies where yield potential relies on precise adherence to agricultural practices.

Key advantages and disease resistance

The primary strength of «Sangria» lies in its genetic resistance to a complex of dangerous corn pathogens. In conditions of high humidity or high infection pressure, this hybrid shows excellent immunity against:

• Helminthosporiosis — prevents premature drying of the leaf apparatus.
• Fusarium — ensures ear health and high grain quality.
• Stalk smut — protects the integrity of the stalk and prevents lodging.

The dent-type grain structure provides high specific weight and rapid moisture release, which is critical for minimizing drying costs post-harvest.

Cultivation recommendations

To realize its full potential, a seeding density of 75,000 to 80,000 plants per hectare is recommended. Given the FAO rating (90–1240), «Sangria» requires well-planned sowing dates to maximize the growing season. Being a simple hybrid, it ensures high uniformity, which facilitates harvesting and reduces mechanical losses.

This hybrid is an optimal choice for large-scale operations with established plant protection systems that refuse to compromise on grain quality and strive to minimize losses from common fungal infections.
