Mustard Mishutka

Technical Profile of «Mishutka» Mustard

Developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops of NAAS, this variety is a breeding solution focused on yield stability under Ukraine's specific climatic conditions. The main emphasis of this variety is the balance between vegetative mass and the accumulation of essential oil components.

Agronomic Indicators

• Type: mustard variety.
• Essential oil content: 0.5–1.0%.
• Originator: Institute of Oilseed Crops of NAAS (Ukraine).

The key value of «Mishutka» lies in its controlled level of essential oil content. The 0.5–1.0% range is optimal for industrial processing, allowing technologists to predict the output of the final product without the excessive bitterness often found in wild or less refined varieties. This makes the crop a reliable raw material for both the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Under field crop rotation conditions, the variety demonstrates resilience to typical stress factors inherent in Ukrainian soil and climatic zones. The technological purity of the line, guaranteed by NAAS breeders, allows farmers to achieve uniform ripening across the entire field. Uniform development is a critical parameter for minimizing losses during harvesting, as it eliminates the problem of uneven maturity within the total harvest mass.

Practical cultivation experience shows that the variety efficiently utilizes limited spring moisture, rapidly developing its leaf canopy. This not only increases the crop's competitiveness against weeds but also contributes to the formation of high-quality seed stock with excellent germination rates.
