Galatea

«Galatea» mustard is a spring Sarepta hybrid of type 0 (erucic acid-free), grown in the Central-Black Earth, North Caucasus, and West Siberia regions. The plant is of medium height, reaching 125–162 cm, with a high placement of the first branching, which ensures a good stem structure and increased yield of green mass.

Key characteristics: medium time to maturity (82–91 days), mass of 1000 seeds – 3.1–3.7 g, fat content in seeds 47.8–49%, high percentage of oleic acid (52.1%) and allyl alcohol oil (0.61%). Seed yield is 17.5–20.2 c/ha, which is higher than the standard for similar varieties. Meanwhile, the potential yield of green mass reaches 32 t/ha.

Advantages: high resistance to lodging (4 points) and shattering/drought (5 points), as well as protection against a number of diseases – fusarium, downy mildew, phoma, alternaria, cruciferous flea beetle and cruciferous flower weevil. Thanks to these properties, «Galatea» ensures stable yields even in unfavorable climatic conditions.

The variety is recommended for growing in Lipetsk and Omsk regions and Krasnodar Krai, where it demonstrates excellent adaptation to local agronomic requirements. This makes it an attractive choice for both commercial farmers and small farms striving to obtain high productivity and product quality.
