Niagara

Niagara F1 carrot is an early-maturing Nantes-type hybrid developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. This variety is highly adaptable and thrives in various climatic conditions, including regions of Ukraine. The vegetation period lasts approximately 100-105 days, allowing for early harvest. With proper agronomic practices — loosening, watering, weed and pest control, and timely application of phosphorus-potassium fertilizers — up to 6.5 kg of root crops can be harvested per square meter.

The fruits of Niagara carrot have a cylindrical shape with a blunt tip, measuring 17-20 cm in length and weighing 100-200 grams. Their surface is smooth, even, without bumps or green edges at the base of leaves. The color is rich orange, making this hybrid particularly attractive for fresh consumption and processing, including juice production. The flesh is juicy, sweet, with high levels of carotene and sugars, and contains no fibers, ensuring a pleasant taste and good texture.

The Niagara hybrid is resistant to major carrot diseases such as cercosporosis, alternaria, and viral infections, and is also resistant to cracking and flower stalk breakage. This makes it a reliable choice for both industrial cultivation and home gardens. The harvest can be collected using specialized equipment, and the root crops are well-suited for transportation and storage in cool, dark conditions for several weeks, expanding their usability and market potential.
