Description Narbonne F1
Narbonne F1 carrot is a late hybrid of the Nantes type, developed by the Dutch company Bejo Zaden. This variety is characterized by a long maturation period — about 135 days from sowing — allowing for the harvest of high-quality produce suitable for long-term storage and processing. The roots have a uniform cylindrical shape, bright orange flesh and core color, with a weight ranging from 100 to 250 grams. High carotene content (up to 18-19 mg) and sugar content (about 7-8%) ensure excellent taste qualities, making the carrot versatile for culinary use, canning, and freezing.

The Narbonne F1 hybrid features a robust and healthy leafy canopy, as well as high resistance to major diseases affecting leaves and roots, such as cercosporosis, alternaria, black rot, and spotting. Due to its high resistance to root breakage, this variety is ideal for mechanical harvesting without loss of quality. Additionally, the carrot does not deform during transport and retains its market appearance and flavor qualities for up to 3-4 months of storage.

For successful cultivation of Narbonne F1, it is recommended to use warmed, loose, and moist soils with regular watering and fertilization applied to the root zone. Avoid overcrowding of seedlings and follow proper crop rotation. The recommended seeding rate is 1.0 to 1.4 million seeds per hectare. Under proper agronomic practices, yields of up to 90-100 tons per hectare can be achieved, making this hybrid attractive for commercial cultivation and fresh market sales.
