Monanta

Monanta carrot — an early hybrid variety of the Nantes type, developed by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan. This variety is characterized by high adaptability and is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones and on different soil types, including loose soils. The vegetation period ranges from 90 to 100 days, allowing for early harvests and successful use for multiple summer sowings. Monanta carrot demonstrates high seed germination and frost resistance up to -4 degrees, expanding cultivation possibilities.

The roots have a bright orange color, cylindrical shape, and smooth surface. The length of the roots varies from 15 to 20 cm, the diameter — 4-5 cm, and the average weight is about 200 grams. The flesh is dense, juicy, fiber-free, with a small core, making the carrot especially appealing for fresh consumption and processing. High content of carotene and sugar ensures a rich flavor and beneficial properties. The variety is distinguished by excellent taste qualities, combining sweetness and crisp texture.

Monanta is characterized by high yield potential — up to 60-65 tons per hectare, which corresponds to 5-6 kg per square meter at a seeding density of up to 1.2 million seeds per hectare. The carrot tolerates crowding well and can be grown both in the first and second crop rotations. Due to its dense flesh and resistance to damage, the roots are well-suited for long-distance transportation and long-term storage under cool conditions, allowing their use in cooking, canning, freezing, as well as for fresh market sales and processing industries.
