Carrot Nantes CL

The French Standard: Nantes KL by Clause

The «Nantes KL» carrot by the renowned French breeder Clause is a testament to precision selection, defining the industry standard for the Nantes type. As a staple in professional vegetable production, this variety is highly regarded for its consistency, visual appeal, and exceptional performance across various farming systems.

Market Positioning and Agronomic Utility

With a maturity period of 80–90 days, «Nantes KL» fits perfectly into the mid-early segment. Its versatility is what makes it a preferred choice for growers targeting three specific market pillars:

• Bunching Market: The variety produces high-quality, uniform roots that excel in early-season freshness.
• Film/Covered Cultivation: Developed for high adaptability, it shows excellent resilience when grown under plastic, making it a reliable choice for early spring harvests.
• Processing Industry: The consistent cylindrical shape and deep orange pigment make it ideal for automated cleaning and industrial processing lines.

The root length, ranging from 15 to 20 cm, is the market "sweet spot," fitting easily into standard retail packaging while maintaining the clean, smooth aesthetic that consumers expect from premium carrots.

Why Professionals Trust the Clause Brand

The success of «Nantes KL» lies in its predictability. Clause has engineered this variety to resist splitting and deformation under standard agronomic practices, ensuring that the harvest yield remains high and labor costs for sorting are kept to a minimum. Whether for open-field farming or protected cultivation, this variety serves as a reliable workhorse, providing the consistent quality required to maintain strong relationships with retail and processing buyers alike.
