Miscanthus giganteus - a perennial grass crop from the grass family, used in agro-ecological projects to restore damaged and low-yield lands. Thanks to its deep root system, it stabilizes soil, improves its structure, and contributes to the accumulation of organic matter, thereby enhancing the fertility of the area.
In the first two years after sowing, the plant requires special care and regular irrigation, but after this period, it begins to grow continuously for up to 25 years. This makes it economically viable for long-term use: one hectare of miscanthus crops can replace about ten thousand cubic meters of natural gas, opening up prospects in both the energy and agricultural sectors.
Miscanthus is safe for humans and insects, so it can be grown even near residential areas. It is particularly effective on wet and low-yield plots where traditional crops do not yield. Thanks to its resilience to unfavorable conditions, miscanthus becomes a valuable tool in the fight for soil health conservation and environmental safety.
