Nautilus is a high-yielding hybrid of the Canary Melon type with a vegetation period of 70-80 days. The plant is characterized by its vigor and good covering ability, capable of forming up to 3-4 fruits per bush. This hybrid is recommended for cultivation in open ground, either by direct sowing or seedling method, which ensures flexibility in agronomy and allows for a stable yield.
Nautilus fruits have an oval shape and a saturated yellow color with a smooth surface. The mass of each fruit ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 kg. The flesh is white, dense, with a crunchy texture and a pleasant aroma. Sugar content reaches 13-14% on the Brix scale, making the melon taste especially sweet and rich. High uniformity and marketability of fruits ensure a high yield of quality produce both from the field and after storage.
The hybrid has good resistance to diseases: medium resistance to powdery mildew and high resistance to fusarium wilt. Nautilus fruits are excellent for long-term storage — several months, as well as for transportation over long distances in bulk, in boxes, or containers. This makes the hybrid attractive for commercial cultivation and marketing both fresh and after prolonged storage.
