Kechal F1 watermelon is a mid-season hybrid of the Yellow Canary type, developed by Rijk Zwaan from the Netherlands. The vegetative period is approximately 72-80 days, allowing for harvest in mid-late season. The plant is strong, with good growth energy, forming long and sturdy vines with a large number of large leaves. Due to its high resistance to Fusarium wilt and powdery mildew, the hybrid maintains stability even under stressful growing conditions, making it a reliable choice for farmers.
The fruits of the Kechal watermelon have an oval, slightly elongated shape and weigh between 3 to 5 kg. The skin is bright yellow with shallow ridges and slight bumps, dense and thin, reliably protecting the pale, dense flesh with a small seed cavity. The flesh has a high sugar content of 12-13%, giving the fruits a very bright and rich flavor. Due to its qualities, the watermelon is suitable for universal use: fresh consumption, freezing, drying, juice production, processing, and canning.
The harvest has a long storage life and good transportability, allowing it to maintain its appearance and taste qualities during long-distance transportation. This makes Kechal F1 watermelon an excellent choice for distribution in chain supermarkets and fresh markets. The recommended sowing rate is 5-6 thousand seeds per hectare, and seeds are packaged by the manufacturer in quantities of 100 and 1000 pieces.
