BIDJOOUR

The Bidjoour F1 melon is an early-maturing, high-yielding pineapple-type hybrid that matures in an average of 55-65 days from transplanting. The plant is climbing, balanced with optimal density of vegetative mass, which ensures protection of fruits from sunburn and facilitates harvest. Leaves are medium to large size, green, and lobed. This hybrid is characterized by good adaptation to various climatic conditions, including stressful situations, and is successfully grown under tunnels or protective material to obtain early produce.

The fruits of the Bidjoour melon have an oval or wide-elliptical shape with orange-gold skin covered with a fine network, without seams and ribs. Fruit weight varies from 2.5 to 3.5 kg. The flesh is light cream or yellowish-white, of medium thickness, juicy and sweet, with a high content of dry substances (12-13%), which ensures excellent taste qualities. The seed chamber is small, and seeds are easily separated from the flesh. The fruits have good storability and maintain commercial qualities for up to 20 days after harvest, making them suitable for transportation.

The hybrid is resistant to major diseases such as Fusarium wilt and powdery mildew, as well as heat-tolerant. Yields under dryland farming reach 94-145 centners per hectare, which significantly exceeds the indicators of standard varieties. Thanks to its characteristics and reliability, the Bidjoour F1 melon is a profitable choice for growing in various climatic zones, ensuring a stable and quality harvest.
