Polka raspberry is a high-yielding remontant variety, characterized by a long fruiting period — from mid-August until the end of September, allowing harvest until the first frosts. The bushes are medium-sized, reaching a height of 1.5–1.8 meters, with strong canes that do not require staking. This variety was developed in 1993 at the Experimental Station of Horticulture in Bzeczyn and has since gained popularity among both hobbyists and commercial growers due to its stable yield and resistance to diseases and frost.
The berries of Polka raspberry are large, round-conical in shape, and a vibrant deep red color. The weight of one berry is approximately 3.0–3.5 grams. They have an excellent raspberry aroma, are very juicy, with a pleasant sweet taste and a slight tartness, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption as well as processing. The berries retain their market appearance and can be stored for up to 4 days at room temperature and up to a week in the refrigerator.
The variety is distinguished by high yield — up to 3.5 kg per square meter, making it profitable for cultivation on garden plots and for commercial purposes. Due to its resistance to diseases of fruit bushes and good adaptability to climatic conditions, Polka raspberry is a reliable choice for gardeners aiming to obtain a high-quality and flavorful harvest with minimal care.
