Dobrodar

Flax, large-flowered — an annual herbaceous plant, native to the northwestern region of Africa, and also widely distributed in the wild in North America and southern Europe. The plant reaches a height of up to 50 centimeters, has an upright and branched stem, covered with sessile alternate leaves with pointed tips. The flowers are small, up to 3 centimeters in diameter, colored carmine-red, white with red eyes, and blue, arranged in loose, umbellate inflorescences. Flowering begins in early spring and continues until the first half of October. The fruits are capsules about 5 millimeters in diameter, containing numerous flattened brown seeds. To extend the flowering period, it is recommended to periodically cut immature capsules, which stimulates reblooming. The plant prefers sunny areas with light and fertile soils and is cultivated exclusively for decorative purposes, suitable for borders, alpine slopes, and cut flower production.
