The 'Danube' flax variety was created using chemical mutagenesis followed by selection of the best populations based on economically valuable traits. Plants reach a height of 65-75 cm, and the vegetation period lasts 87-89 days. The flowers are of medium size and blue in color, which is a distinctive feature of this variety.

The seeds of the 'Danube' variety are moderately brown, with a 1000-seed mass ranging from 7.7 to 8.0 grams. An important characteristic is the high oil content in the seeds, which ranges from 47.7 to 48.6 %. The average yield of the variety is between 2.2-2.8 tons per hectare, making it attractive for agricultural production.

The variety is characterized by resistance to lodging and seed shattering, which helps preserve the harvest and improve its quality. It is recommended for cultivation in the steppe zone of Ukraine, where it shows good results and is adapted to local climatic conditions.
