COOLUMBINA – an early-ripening honeysuckle variety bred at the Mikhurin State Agrarian University. It is distinguished by high winter hardiness and resistance to diseases and pests, making it suitable for cultivation in a wide range of climatic conditions.
The variety is characterized by a moderate yield of about 31 tons/ha, with berries having an average weight from 0.8 to 1.0 g. They are of a flask shape, blue in color, and covered with a medium-thickness skin. Inside, there is approximately 7.3% sugar and 2.3% acid, as well as 35.5 mg of vitamin C per 100 g of product. Thanks to the combination of sweetness and tartness, the berries have a pleasant aroma and a delicate texture.
COOLUMBINA is valued not only as a tasty product for table consumption but also as a source of polyvitamin substances. In scientific studies, synergy between vitamin C and other active components of honeysuckle is noted, which enhances their benefit to the body. Thanks to the good rooting ability of green cuttings, this variety is easily reproduced in garden conditions.
