Lettuce Zabava

When working with oak-leaf type lettuce, the main challenge is managing leaf fragility and preventing early bolting during hot spells. "Zabava" by Gavrish has proven to be a reliable performer that doesn't require overly complex maintenance, provided you stick to a consistent irrigation schedule.

Vegetation and Growing Experience

The plant forms a compact, medium-sized rosette, which is quite convenient for dense planting patterns. The leaves do not sag, maintaining their commercial appearance well. The leaves are vibrant green, crisp in texture, and possess that classic, mild, non-bitter flavor expected from high-quality oak-leaf varieties.

Practical Management Tips

• Irrigation: Moisture stability is the critical factor here. Inconsistent watering quickly reduces leaf turgor and quality.
• Harvesting: It is best to harvest during the morning hours. The medium rosette size makes it easy to pack the produce for sale or personal use.
• Durability: The variety shows decent resilience against the typical temperature swings, which is a rare trait for mid-season varieties of this class.

If you are looking for a workhorse variety for continuous harvesting cycles, Zabava is a dependable tool that won't let you down in terms of leaf quality or yield consistency.
