Lettuce Khameleon

Innovative Leaf Morphology

The «Chameleon» lettuce by «Agrofirma AS» is a specialized selection product designed for the high-end butterhead lettuce segment. The primary technological feature of this hybrid is its dichromatic rosette coloration. The genetically fixed transition from a light green center to deep dark-red peripheral leaf areas allows the plant to efficiently manage photosynthetic processes under varying solar radiation levels.

Agrotechnical Parameters and Structure

The mid-season vegetation period ensures a stable harvesting sequence. The butterhead consistency is characterized by a specific composition of vegetable lipids and organic acids, making the leaf structure both elastic and resistant to mechanical damage during distribution. The compact mass of the commercial head is a strategic advantage for portioned retail, simplifying logistics and shelf-life management.

• Plant Type: Butterhead, ensuring a dense, well-developed interior structure.
• Visual Characteristics: Contrasting transition between light-green and dark-red pigments.
• Maturity: Mid-season, optimized for intensive agricultural practices.

The breeding work conducted by the team of Olena Khomiakova, Yurii Shevchenko, and others has resulted in high stability of varietal traits, officially recognized by the patent holders. Implementing this variety in production allows growers to mitigate the risks of uneven foliage development, ensuring a superior market appearance even under mild external stress conditions.
