DUBRAVA

The Dubrava lettuce is a variety of the oilseed type with yellowish-green leaves and a semi-erect shape. The leaves have a wrinkled surface and a delicate structure, which ensures good taste qualities. This variety belongs to the oak-type lettuce and is characterized by delayed stemming, which allows the rosette of leaves to remain fresh for a longer time. The plant forms a dense large rosette of leaves weighing from 170 to 220 grams and about 20 centimeters in diameter. The leaves are light green, pinnately lobed, up to 20 centimeters long, with an oily consistency, which gives the salad a pleasant taste and texture.

Growing Dubrava lettuce is possible both by seedling method and by direct sowing into open ground. Sowing for seedlings is recommended in March, followed by transplanting into the ground in April, while the optimal planting scheme is 30x30-35 cm. For direct sowing into the ground, the sowing rate is 0.2 grams of seeds per square meter. The variety is shade-tolerant and sun-loving, prefers well-fertilized soils with good drainage, which contributes to its full development and high yield.

Dubrava lettuce is susceptible to some diseases, such as gray mold and black leg, as well as pests, including aphids, flea beetles, and wireworms. However, due to its agronomic features and resistance to bolting, it maintains high quality and freshness for a long time. The variety is suitable for growing in open ground from April, and the maturation period falls in July-August, which makes it an excellent choice for summer consumption.
