Lettuce Lento

Ensuring Yield Consistency: Why Growers Choose Lento

Lento, a selection from the Czech company Moravoseed, is a strategic choice for growers focusing on high-quality Iceberg lettuce production. With a growing cycle of 63–75 days, this variety fits perfectly into a staggered planting schedule, ensuring a continuous supply of market-ready product for retail channels throughout the season.

Agronomic Strengths and Field Performance

Managing disease pressure is the primary challenge for lettuce growers, especially under humid conditions. Lento offers a significant advantage through its genetic resistance to Downy Mildew and Lettuce Mosaic Virus. For a farm manager, this translates into fewer fungicide applications, lower production costs, and higher yields of clean, sellable heads.

• Head Quality: The dense, dark green heads meet the strict visual standards required by both supermarkets and the high-end foodservice industry.
• Handling and Logistics: The medium-sized, compact head structure minimizes losses during harvesting and palletization, which is critical for maintaining margins in long-distance logistics.
• Reliability: Developed by Moravoseed, this variety demonstrates strong adaptability to varying environmental conditions, reducing the risk of premature bolting or uneven development.

Opting for Lento allows farms to simplify their cultivation workflow. By choosing a variety with built-in resistance and consistent growth characteristics, growers can focus on optimizing nutrient management and irrigation, resulting in a premium, crisp product that satisfies the end consumer.
