Lettuce DUBACHEK

Genetic Potential of the Leaf Lettuce Type

The "Dubachek" variety from the Czech breeding company Moravoseed is a classic example of leaf lettuce, with a morphotype specifically adapted to produce a marketable rosette with minimal time input. Unlike heading varieties, this cultivar focuses on active biomass accumulation of the leaf plate, making it a preferred tool for intensive vegetable farming.

Morphological Features and Development

The key feature of this variety lies in its leaf structure. The leaf-type growth habit ensures even distribution of nutrients, preventing excessive congestion in the center of the rosette. The practical outcome is high photosynthetic intensity and, consequently, shorter lead times to the first harvest. The leaves possess a characteristic shape that facilitates excellent aeration within the plant, which is critical for preventing fungal diseases in high-humidity greenhouse environments or dense open-field plantings.

Agrotechnical Value

Moravoseed experts have engineered a high level of plasticity regarding temperature fluctuations into the genetics of "Dubachek". For the grower, this translates into:

• Vegetative Stability: The variety demonstrates a predictable growth rate even when temperatures deviate from the optimal range.
• Harvest Efficiency: The rosette forms compactly but without excessive density, simplifying both manual and mechanized harvesting operations.
• Market Appeal: The leaf texture remains crisp throughout the technical maturity period, which significantly enhances the product's retail value.

Choosing "Dubachek" is a sound decision for operations focused on continuous lettuce production, where land turnover speed is the key profitability factor. Czech breeding standards guarantee high germination rates and crop uniformity, minimizing risks of losses during thinning and plantation management.
