Lettuce Crimson

Field Performance: Crimson by Moravoseed

When working with the Lollo Rossa type lettuce from the Czech seed house Moravoseed, you immediately notice the uniformity of the crop. "Crimson" behaves predictably throughout the entire growth cycle.

Growth and Cultivation Experience

• Planting and Development: The variety shows excellent germination vigor. When following standard agricultural practices, the rosette forms compact yet voluminous, which is crucial for market presentation when bunching.
• Resilience: Czech breeding is traditionally focused on tolerance to local temperature fluctuations. "Crimson" has shown good resistance to tip burn, which eliminates unnecessary sorting and discarding during harvest.
• Leaf Consistency: The leaf texture is firm, and the "curly" characteristic is vivid, making the lettuce visually appealing to the end consumer. Even during transport, the leaves hold their shape and keep their crunchiness well.

For a farm manager, "Crimson" is primarily about consistency. Unlike less stable hybrids, here you get a conveyor-ready product: all plants develop uniformly, allowing you to schedule harvest with precision. Seed consumption is standard, and the crop does not require specific fertilizers beyond basic nitrogen-phosphorus applications at the start.

Managing a plot with this variety boils down to standard irrigation and soil moisture monitoring. If the schedule is followed, the "Crimson" by Moravoseed yields 100% of its potential, delivering premium-segment Lollo Rossa that enjoys steady demand from retailers.
