Lettuce BLONDE

Technological features of 'Blonde' leaf lettuce

The 'Blonde' lettuce variety from Italian originator La Societa Delle Scienze Umane S.R.L. is a breeding solution aimed at optimizing production cycles within the leafy greens segment. The key feature of this plant material lies in the physiology of leaf apparatus formation: the rosette possesses high growth energy, enabling the attainment of target commercial weight within a medium ripening period.

Rosette architecture and visual performance

The light green leaf color serves as a marker of intense plant metabolism. The breeders at La Societa Delle Scienze Umane S.R.L. focused on rosette density, resulting in a balanced structure that minimizes the risk of mechanical damage during harvesting and logistics. The leaf blade exhibits optimal elasticity, which is essential for maintaining the marketability of 'Blonde' during shelf life.

• Biological resource: Mid-season variety with predictable weight gain dynamics.
• Morphology: Large rosette, facilitating automated harvesting processes.
• Quality control: Genetic stability from the originator ensures batch uniformity.

Technically, this hybrid is optimized for intensive cultivation technologies. The substantial rosette mass at a medium maturity stage allows agronomists to effectively schedule conveyor-style deliveries to the fresh produce market.
