Lettuce Bryunet

Aesthetic Appeal and Nutritional Value

The «Brunet» lettuce variety, developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, stands out from common market standards due to its striking appearance. The leaves feature a deep dark-red color that transitions into a light-green hue at the base, creating a visual contrast that is highly sought after for gourmet plating and fresh market display.

Agronomic Profile

• Type: Leaf lettuce that develops into a large, heavy rosette.
• Maturity: An early-ripening variety, perfect for capturing early-season market demand.
• Quality: The leaves are tender yet maintain a crisp structure, making them excellent for fresh salads.

The expertise of the breeding station has focused on high adaptability, ensuring reliable performance in variable climates. While many commercial varieties prioritize yield at the expense of taste, «Brunet» balances significant leaf mass with aesthetic appeal. Growers should note that, like most early-maturing leaf varieties, consistent irrigation is essential to maintain crispness and prevent bolting during periods of extreme temperature fluctuations.
