Maximizing Forage Yield with Smooth Brome

Smooth brome (Bromus inermis), variety 'Bliskavka', is a specialized selection by the National Scientific Center 'Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS'. Designed for the specific climatic conditions of Ukraine, this variety reaches a height of 57–60 cm, striking an ideal balance between biomass production and nutritional density for livestock.

Practical Implementation in Farming

The primary utility of 'Bliskavka' lies in the establishment of long-term meadows and pastures. With a field lifespan often exceeding a decade, it is a strategic asset for farm managers looking for durability and reduced reseeding frequency.

• Intensive Grazing: This variety demonstrates high resilience to trampling and rapid regrowth post-grazing, making it a reliable component for rotational grazing systems.
• Forage Production: When integrated into mixtures with legumes, it provides high-quality hay and silage, delivering the essential nutrients required for dairy and beef cattle production.
• Erosion Control: Its deep, dense root system provides excellent soil stabilization. It is frequently utilized in reclamation projects to restore degraded lands and protect sloped terrain from water and wind erosion.

Farmers favor 'Bliskavka' for its predictable performance. It thrives in various soil types and maintains consistent productivity even under moderate moisture stress. Its strong winter hardiness and early spring vigor ensure that pasture production begins as soon as the weather permits, providing a vital early-season feed source.
