Borodyansky Rozovyi / Borodyanska Rozhova

Borodyansky Rozovyi — an early-maturing potato variety of Ukrainian selection, characterized by high yield and adaptability to various climatic conditions, including risky farming zones and northern regions. Tubers have a round but slightly irregular shape, weighing from 90 to 140 grams, with rose-colored skin and cream or yellow flesh. Starch content varies from 14 to 19%, making this variety versatile for various culinary uses, including frying, baking, and making mashed potatoes. Maturation period is 65–75 days, allowing its use in middle and northern regions.

The variety exhibits good storability, reaching 85–98%, ensuring tuber preservation during storage. Borodyansky Rozovyi is resistant to potato scab, has moderate resistance to late blight of foliage and tubers, as well as to macrosporosis. However, it is susceptible to viral diseases, common scab, and rot during storage. For successful cultivation, standard agronomic practices with 30–35 cm spacing between plants and 70 cm between rows are recommended. The variety is low-maintenance and well-adapted to various soil-climate conditions.

Borodyansky Rozovyi is widely used both fresh and for processing. Its good taste qualities and culinary type CD make it a popular choice for preparing various dishes. Yield ranges from 177 to 454 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity and economic attractiveness for farmers.
