Description Argo
Argo is an early-maturing table potato variety with oval-round tubers of medium size, weighing 92 to 150 grams. The tubers have red skin and creamy, juicy flesh that does not darken during boiling, making this variety especially attractive for culinary use. Starch content varies from 12.7 to 16.7%, and it also contains about 3% protein and 22-25 mg of vitamin C, ensuring good taste and nutritional value. The variety is characterized by high marketability — around 80% and excellent storability — up to 97%, guaranteeing long-term storage without quality loss.

Plants of the Argo variety have medium height and intermediate growth type with semi-erect form. Leaves are medium-sized, green or dark green, and flower corollas are medium-sized with moderate anthocyanin coloring. The yield of this variety is high and stable: marketable yield reaches 149-236 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the standards of conventional varieties. First and second harvests show yields of 91-154 centners per hectare, indicating early and intensive tuber production.

The Argo variety is resistant to several diseases, making it a reliable choice for cultivation. It is resistant to potato cancer, golden potato cyst nematode, crinkly and striped mosaic, as well as viruses Y, A, and leaf curl. Additionally, the variety shows moderate resistance to late blight on foliage and susceptibility on tubers, but overall it possesses good phytosanitary resistance. Long dormancy period and high tuber storability allow effective use of this variety in various climatic conditions, especially in the Ural region.
