Chuchupaka is a new garden variety of date created by author V.N. Derevyanko. This tree grows up to 3.5 meters tall and is distinguished by high winter hardiness, tolerating temperatures down to -35°C. Thanks to its shorter vegetation period and higher frost resistance compared to the "Rossiyanka" variety, "Chuchupaka" is suitable for cultivation in more northern regions. The variety is dioecious, therefore, for successful pollination in plantations, the presence of pollinator varieties is necessary.
The fruits of the "Chuchupaka" date are round in shape and red-brown in color with orange-brown flesh. Fruit mass varies, reaching up to 100 grams, with 2 to 4 seeds per fruit. Fruits ripen in the second to third decade of October, allowing for an early harvest. From one mature tree, up to 90 kilograms of fruit can be harvested, indicating high yield.
The "Chuchupaka" date is characterized by very sweet taste and good fruit quality, suitable for fresh consumption, canning, and processing. Fruits can be stored for up to one month, providing convenience in use and sales. Successful cultivation of this variety requires proper care, including regular watering, fertilization, and pruning, which helps maintain plant health and high productivity.
