Focusing on Early Maturity and Grain Quality

The 'Ellison' variety from the German breeding company NPZ Lembke is a strategic choice for farmers aiming for early-season output. With a maturity period of 75–90 days, this crop integrates seamlessly into crop rotation cycles, allowing for timely harvest before fall weather challenges or the planting of winter crops.

Agronomic Performance and Field Management

Reaching a height of 81–120 cm, the plants are well-adapted to mechanized harvesting. This height category, combined with uniform 11–14 cm pods, ensures high throughput for combines during the harvesting process. The variety's structure is designed for efficiency, minimizing losses in the field.

• Culinary/Food Potential: The characteristic sweetish taste of the grain sets 'Ellison' apart, making it suitable for both high-protein fodder and the specialized food processing sector.
• Cultivation Requirements: Engineered for success in open-field conditions, it performs best in soils with good moisture retention during the flowering phase.

Practically speaking, 'Ellison' is favored by growers who prioritize consistency. Its structural integrity (81–120 cm) reduces the risk of lodging, which is a common pain point for larger operations. By choosing this variety, farmers balance intensive cultivation technologies with the reliable results needed for efficient supply chain management and consistent quality.
