Hippeastrum Yarik

A Georgian Touch in Indoor Floriculture

The 'Yarik' Hippeastrum is the result of selective breeding by the Federal Research Center 'Subtropical Scientific Center of the RAS', confidently stepping beyond typical Dutch standards. Unlike mass-market hybrids intended solely for pot culture, this variety demonstrates remarkable plasticity.

Key Features and Plant Architecture

• Impressive Dimensions: The flower stalks reach 60–70 cm. This makes 'Yarik' a focal point in any space, whether a garden flowerbed or a floor planter.
• Bloom Scale: The diameter of the flower bowl is 18–22 cm. This magnitude allows the variety to visually expand the boundaries of the garden.
• Adaptability: The breeder has instilled in the variety’s genetics a high tolerance for summer cultivation in open ground, a rarity for subtropical plants.

Who is this variety for?

'Yarik' is a discovery for collectors seeking a balance between showy ornamentalism and low-maintenance requirements. A weak point of the variety is the necessity of a mandatory winter rest period at 12–15°C, without which the next season's bloom will be at risk. However, when this cycle is strictly observed, 'Yarik' exhibits stability that many imported analogues lack. It is ideal for those looking to shift the accent from window sills to open verandas and wind-protected garden areas during the summer months.
