Tergulmek is a Crimean grape variety belonging to the eco-geographical group of the Black Sea basin. It ripens in mid-September, which allows it to be used for various winemaking purposes. The leaves of this variety are quite large, round, five-lobed, with a dense bristly-hairy pubescence on the underside. The upper leaf surface is netted and wrinkled, while the petiole sinus is closed with a narrow elliptic opening and a pointed bottom. The flowers are bisexual, which promotes good pollination and fruit formation.
Clusters of Tergulmek are medium-sized, cylinder-conic or cylindrical, sometimes lobed and dense. Berries are of medium size, weakly oval or almost round, greenish-yellow in color with a golden tint on the sunny side and a moderate waxy bloom. The flesh is juicy and tender, with an ordinary taste, while the skin is thick and strong, ensuring good fruit preservation. Bushes have medium growth vigor and high yield, and the variety is distinguished by high resistance to fungal diseases and good shoot ripening.
The sugar content of the berry juice varies from 18 to 25 g per 100 cm³, and acidity is 4-6.5 g/dm³, making this grape suitable for producing strong wines in a blend with other varieties. Tergulmek is valued for its economic qualities and is included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements, confirming its significance and potential for Crimean viticulture.
