Monarch grape is a table hybrid form of white grape with an early to medium ripening period, created by amateur selection E.G. Pavlovsky. The bushes are vigorous, with bisexual flowers, which ensures good fruit setting. Harvest maturity occurs in the second half of August, and the ripening period lasts about 120-125 days. Clusters are large and elegant, weighing from 500 to 700 grams, without peas, which makes them attractive for consumers and easy to harvest.
Monarch grape berries are distinguished by their very large size — standard 36 by 26 mm, weighing up to 15-19 grams, oval or egg-shaped. The color of the berries is amber yellow with a red sunburn on the sunny side. The pulp is dense with easily edible skin, which provides a pleasant and harmonious taste perception. The taste of the grape is rich, with a light muscat aroma, sometimes with excessive sweetness when fully ripe. There are 1-2 seeds in each berry. In case of excess moisture, the berries do not crack or rot, increasing their resistance to adverse weather conditions.
The Monarch grape harvest can be stored on the bushes for a long time without losing its marketable qualities, allowing you to flexibly plan harvesting. Shoots ripen well, and the variety has moderate resistance to major diseases such as mildew, oidium, and gray mold, with an assessment of about 2 points. The frost resistance of this variety reaches -23…-25 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for growing in regions with a moderately cold climate.
