KOK PANDAS grape is a late-maturing technical variety intended for the production of dessert wines. This variety is characterized by medium-sized leaves with moderate to dense web-like pubescence. The clusters are of medium size, cylindrical in shape, weighing about 206 grams, with a loose to medium density structure. The berries are of medium size, round or slightly flattened in shape, and yellow-green in color. The skin of the fruits is dense, while the flesh is meaty and juicy and crunchy, giving the wine a special texture and taste.
The sugar content in the berries reaches 20.5 g per 100 cm³, and the acidity is 6.9 g per dm³, which ensures a balanced taste of the future wine. The tasting rating of the dessert wine from this variety reaches 9.3 points, indicating high quality of the product. The average yield of the variety is about 100 centners per hectare, which makes it quite productive for technical viticulture.
The KOK PANDAS variety is grown mainly in the North Caucasus region and in the Crimean area, where it is considered local and not very widespread. The grape is moderately susceptible to fungal diseases and the grape leafroller, which requires certain protective and care measures. Despite this, the variety maintains stability and quality of the harvest, which makes it attractive to winemakers focused on the production of dessert wines.
