Bias Aibatly — a Crimean grape variety belonging to the ecological-geographical group of Eastern wine varieties. This technical variety of medium ripening period reaches maturity by mid-September. The bushes exhibit high growth vigor and good shoot ripening, which contributes to stable average yields. The leaves are of medium size, round, with three or five lobes and medium dissection; the underside of the leaf is hairless, while the leaves of the middle and lower tiers feature dense bristly hair along the veins. The flowers are bisexual, ensuring good pollination and cluster formation.
Clusters of Bias Aibatly are medium-sized, conical in shape, sometimes with a wing, of medium density or loose. The berries are of medium size, round, slightly flattened, greenish-yellow in color with a characteristic weak waxy bloom and brown tan spots on the sunny side. The flesh of the berries is juicy and melting, with a simple taste, while the skin is thin and fragile. The sugar content of the berry juice is 20-21 g per 100 cm³, and acidity is 4-5 g per dm³, making this grape suitable for producing fortified wines.
Despite its attractive characteristics, the variety has low resistance to grape diseases, requiring careful care and plant protection. The main application of Bias Aibatly is winemaking, where it is used to produce fortified wines due to its balanced sugar and acid content, as well as good juice quality. This variety is valued for its technological properties and ability to create wines with a characteristic taste.
