Ekim Kara is a wine grape variety belonging to the eco-geographical group of eastern varieties and widely distributed mainly in the Sudak District of Crimea. This variety is characterized by a late ripening period, which is about 156 days with a sum of active temperatures of 3200°C. Bushes are vigorous with medium-sized, rounded, and weakly dissected leaves, having a slight hairy down on the underside and a dense bristly covering along the veins. The petiole notch of the leaf is more often closed with a narrow elliptical opening. Bunches are cylindrical-conical, of medium density or loose, of medium and large sizes, with a bunch weight of about 200-250 grams, and berries weighing 2-3 grams.
