Apple ALLA

Apple variety «Alla»: a benchmark of dessert taste

The «Alla» variety is a successful breeding achievement of the N.I. Vavilov Research Institute (VIR). Unlike many modern commercial varieties focused exclusively on shelf life or transportability, «Alla» prioritizes culinary excellence. A tasting score of 5.0 out of 5.0 is not a formality; it reflects the perfect balance of the fruit, where the firm, juicy, and highly aromatic pulp places this apple among the top-tier dessert varieties.

Agronomic Advantages

For gardeners working in temperate climates, «Alla» offers an essential balance of vital characteristics:

• Disease Resistance: The variety demonstrates robust immunity to apple scab and powdery mildew, the primary challenges in apple orchards, which significantly reduces the need for aggressive fungicide applications.
• Tree Architecture: Being a medium-sized tree with a rounded canopy, it is easy to maintain. It requires minimal pruning effort and allows for efficient use of garden space while maintaining excellent light penetration through the branches.
• Winter Hardiness: The genetics provided by the breeders allow the tree to reliably withstand harsh winters, making it a viable option for regions with volatile climates.

Who is this variety for?

«Alla» is the ideal choice for private garden owners and small farms that value quality over sheer quantity. The 150–200 gram fruit size makes them marketable and convenient for sales. The light green color, combined with its exquisite taste, allows these apples to stand out in the premium segment. It is the perfect choice for those tired of bland, mass-market apples who want to harvest genuine, high-quality fruit directly from their own trees.
