Anchellotta Tamanskaya is a technical grape variety of Italian origin, widely cultivated in the Emilia-Romagna region and on the Taman Peninsula of the Krasnodar Krai. This variety belongs to the Lambrusco group and is distinguished by high quality among its representatives. The grapes ripen late, have a perfect flower, and feature a characteristic pentagonal cut leaf with deep lobes. The clusters of Anchellotta are medium-sized in mass, cylindrical-conical in shape, often winged, loose, and medium density. The berries are small, round, dark blue with a dense waxy bloom, thick and tough skin, and the flesh is fleshy-juicy with a harmonious flavor. The variety is characterized by high and stable yields. Anchellotta is used primarily for the production of dark, fruity, and slightly acidic red wines. Monovarietal wines from this grape possess very intense color and are used to create blended wines such as Rossisimo, and also form part of Reggiano Rosso DOC and various Lambrusco DOC wines. In the Tamanskaya region, the grapes acquire shades from ruby to dark ruby color, and its aroma reveals notes of tart black fruits, spices, and light animalistic tones. The flavor of wines from Anchellotta is dense, full-bodied, and slightly astringent with a long finish. The recommended serving temperature is 14-16°C. Such wines pair excellently with dishes of red meat and spicy cheeses, making them versatile for gastronomic pairings and valuable for lovers of rich and expressive wines.
