Apple HALSEDAR

Efficient orchard management with the «Khalsedar» variety

Selecting planting material from Ao Sad-gigant for intensive fruit production is a strategic decision for growers focusing on predictability and cost efficiency. The «Khalsedar» apple variety is designed for operations that aim to reduce maintenance overheads. Its primary practical advantage is natural resistance to powdery mildew. In high-humidity environments or high-density plantings, this trait significantly decreases the need for frequent fungicide applications, directly impacting the bottom line.

Key agrotechnical features

• Growth Habit: As a medium-vigor tree, it allows for streamlined crown formation, which is essential for mechanized pruning and efficient canopy management on trellis systems.
• Winter Hardiness: The variety shows excellent cold tolerance, making it a reliable choice for regions prone to significant winter temperature drops or late spring frosts.
• Field Performance: Developed by Ao Sad-gigant and the team led by A. A. Ryzhov, the variety offers consistent productivity, ensuring that the fruit quality remains high even under intensive cultivation pressure.

For commercial growers, «Khalsedar» represents a solid choice for maintaining a healthy orchard with a lower reliance on the standard spray schedule. By choosing this variety, producers can achieve stable yields and simplify the operational logistics of the growing season.
